Happily Ever Never

(A Montgomery Ink Legacy Novella)

by Carrie Ann Ryan

New York Times bestselling author Carrie Ann Ryan returns to the Montgomery Ink world with a blind date romance between two unlikely strangers.

I love falling in love.
Only I’m the worst at it.

My friends call me a serial first dater and I can’t blame them.
All I want is a happy ever after, yet all I find are happy ever nevers.

This is my last chance. After this set up with my friend’s tattoo artist, I’m done.
No more dating. No more chances.

If I don’t fall in love with Leo Johnson, I’ll give up on dating.
Even if it shatters my dreams in the process.

An Exclusive Interview with Carrie Ann Ryan

~ with Jillian Stein, co-owner of 1,001 Dark Nights / The Blue Box Press

Can you tell us why or how you chose to write about this couple for your novella?

When I wrote the first book in my Montgomery Ink Legacy, series, I wanted the hero to be set up on a blind date that just didn’t work out. And of course, because I’m me, I had to add a little spice and May, the heroine of Happily Ever Never, ended up being his nanny as well. I adored her and knew that though she wasn’t the heroine of Bittersweet Promises, she needed a book of her own. Leo was a quiet tattoo artist in the background of the series, and I really wanted to see what he had to say. It turns out these two were perfect for each other.

If you could watch one scene from this book be played out like a movie, which one would it be and why?

Honestly, I’d love to see a montage of her blind dates! May never thought she’d have romance of her own and had a series of Happily Ever Nevers. I think that is PERFECT for romcom!

What’s the worst thing you’ve eaten out of politeness?

Tapioca pudding. *shudders* I just can’t lol. I also dislike most yogurts, so I think there is something wrong with me.

What’s the most awkward thing that happens to you on a regular basis?

I am awkward no matter what I do. Whenever I’m talking to friends and a group of people, I feel like I’m having an outer body experience where I know I’m saying all the wrong things and laughing too loudly lol. I still rehash most conversations I have, wondering why I’m so awkward haha.

How did you come up with the title for this book?

I love Happily Ever Afters but knew that May had to get through her Nevers first. It’s one of my favorite titles EVER!

Biography:

New York Times and USA Today Bestselling Author Carrie Ann Ryan never thought she’d be a writer. Not really. No, she loved math and science and even went on to graduate school in chemistry. Yes, she read as a kid and devoured teen fiction and Harry Potter, but it wasn’t until someone handed her a romance book in her late teens that she realized that there was something out there just for her. When another author suggested she use the voices in her head for good and not evil, The Redwood Pack and all her other stories were born.

Carrie Ann is a bestselling author of over twenty novels and novellas and has so much more on her mind (and on her spreadsheets *grins*) that she isn’t planning on giving up her dream anytime soon.
